Managing Link Groups
What is a Link Group?
A Link Group is a way of arranging your Assets into Groups so that they will generate on less work orders each month for maintenance needs. Each Link Group will generate one work order per group rather than one work order per asset.
How do I set up Link Groups?
The list of Link Groups may be controlled through the Administration, Work Order Settings. This will allow you to customize which Link Groups are available to be used for your assets.
On the Asset Edit screen, simply drop down the Link Group options and select the link group that is appropriate for this asset. Currently, a link group should contain assets that are all the same classification.
=== My work orders are generating more (or less) work orders than my previous system
While the number of work orders may have changed somewhat, the amount of work being requested has not significantly changed. The work is simply being grouped into different amounts of work orders.
How do I utilize link group work requests?
A link group work request will show up as a normal work request, except instead of having a number, it will be listed as the link group name, such as "Fire Extinguishers" or "Emergency Lights".
All other options are the same as a normal work request. For instance, you can assign or update the status of the entire link group by clicking on those options in the landing page.
