A Functional Area within ISISweb is simply the place that you go to in order to accomplish a set of related tasks. The functional areas group together different processes that are commonly associated with a certain type of work.
For instance, the Work functional area contains all of the processes around creating, editing, and completing work requests. In this area, you are able to turn client requests into work orders, assign them to technicians, and then track all associated progress for the request.
